Two More TDP MLAs to Join TRS

Hyderabad, 09 March: The exodus of Telugu Desam leaders into the TRS is going unrestricted as two more MLAs of the TDP from Greater Hyderabad have decided to join the ruling party in the next couple of days. If these two join the TRS, the TTDP will have just three elected MLAs, just one of them from the capital, in its kitty. The TTDP won 15 Assembly seats in the 2014 elections.

Maganti Gopinath and Arikepudi Gandhi will be joined in TRS soon.

MLAs Maganti Gopinath and Arekapudi Gandhi are learnt to have met Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the CM’s camp office in Hyderabad on 9th March and expressed their willingness to join the TRS. Mr Gopinath is the party’s President for Greater Hyderabad unit and represents the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency while Gandhi represents the Assembly constituency of Serilingampally

Though Gopinath’s name cropped up in the cash-for-vote scam, there have been reports that he will be joining the TRS party. Gandhi also has been said to be in contact with TRS leaders for many days and has been waiting for a chance to join in the TRS. Now the TTDP will be left with just three MLAs i.e., A Revanth Reddy, R Krishnaiah and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah. R Krishnaiah will be the lone TDP MLA from Greater Hyderabad. Krishnaiah is keeping away from the TDP and he clearly says that he represents the BCs and not the TDP.

“The Two MLAs Gopinath and Gandhi are likely to join the TRS in the city on 11th March when the Assembly will be in session,” according to a TRS leader.
